Emerging from the underground scene in Ukraine, Grec - Denis Paskalov by his name, is a man of few words that lets his music speak for him.
Formulating his musical taste from early years listening to hip-hop, it wasn't until 4 years ago that Grec really dedicated most of his time to production of electronic music.
Grec sound does magic to fuse the original sound of house and electro to bring dance floors to a frenzy, with his tracks being supported by Anthea, Alci, Maksim, Samuel Padden & more...
It is with our great pleasure that we welcome Grec to MINIM 006 series with his premiere EP “Climacool”. Supporting the EP are two stunning remixes by two supperb artists, Derek Carr bringing it that classic, timeless sound and TIJN giving it that fresh, groovy and deep sound.

Derek Carr is one of the unsung heroes of UK house and techno, and it’s a pleasure digging through his back catalog, unearthing gem after gem. Derek has been producing and releasing Detroit-tinged electronic music for almost two decades. He has recently released music on labels such as ‘For those that Knoe’, ‘Revoke’, ‘Subwax’ and ‘Firescope’.
Born and raised in Westmeath, Derek got an early taste for finely crafted melodic techno through compilations like Network’s ‘Bio-Rhythms’ and Warp’s ‘Pioneers of the Hypnotic Groove’. Having been a fan of bands such as Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode through his formative years, Derek felt drawn to this new sound coming from Detroit, Sheffield and Leeds.
Recognising the home made ‘punk’ ethos of early ‘Bleep techno’ he began to pick up second hand instruments, initially investing in a cheetah sampler and boss drum machine.
Derek then set about creating his own sound, a sound that owed much to the techno pioneers, B12, the Black Dog, As One, Nexus 21 and Rhythmatic to name but a few.
In 2001 Derek launched his own label ‘Trident Recordings’ and released the ‘Copper Beech e.p.’ (the only release to date) a collection of deep soulful techno. Only 500 copies were pressed and it has since become something of a collector’s item.
Subsequent releases on ‘Digital Soul’ and ‘Geek Records’ further cemented Carr’s place amongst a new generation of techno producers that looked to combine soul and melody with electronic dancefloor grooves.
Derek Carr is a name known by few and far between but he has built a worthy reputation for putting together stunning deep techno.

Label boss of vinyl only outlets In Haus Wax & self titled TIJN & Digital Label Deep Edition Recordings, UK-born TIJN has been making house records since 2007 as Martijn but more recently as TIJN taking a more direct analog approach in the studio, Recently he has dropped a string of releases on labels such as 124 Black & In Haus Wax, successfully topping vinyl buzz charts at the record store.
2014 saw TIJN start his own eponymous label, with the first vinyl-only 12" release featuring French master Djebali, being played by the Francophone-trio Apollonia.
An accomplished producer as well as DJ, TIJN has played alongside renowned selectors like Steffi, Jordan Peak, Sossa and Dyed Soundorom, playing his own particular take on house and techno.
TIJN has Releases penned for Overall Music LTD, Worx Music, Frole & TIJN02, and remixed by Terrence Parker, Tuccillo House of Warez & Chicago’s very own DJ Jes.
